Panachikadu  Sarawathi Temple also known as Dakshina (southern) Mookambi is famous for Navarathri celebrations.  Vidyarambha is the main ritual during the Navarathri season. Famous artists perform music and art performances in connection with this nine auspicious days.

The main diety of the temple is Goddess Saraswathi, known as the god of Vidhya and Siva, Sastha, Ganapathi, Nagayakshi and  Nagaraja  are sub deities. ‘Saraswatha Sooktharchana’ for Goddess Saraswathi and Purusha Sooktharchana’ for Vishnu are performed in the early morning pooja, every day.
