A grand procession called Athachamyam held at Thrippunithura, marks the start of Onam celebrations in Kerala.Onam is celebrating to commerate the memory of noble King Mahabali.
Pulikkali (Tiger Dance) and Kummattikali in Thrissur, Boat races at Alappuzha, Onam Celebrations in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city, Athachamayam procession at Thrippunithura, Kochi are the main attractions of Onam celebrations. Apart from that, there will be various regional events will be held at allover Kerala.
