Mysuru Dasara from Sept 29th to Oct 8th 2019

On the 10th day of the Festival, i.e. Vijayadashami, the ‘Jamboo Savari’ or Elephant Procession is taken to the streets of the city. People come in thousands to witness the grand spectacle. The highlight of the procession is the idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari placed in a Golden Howdah over a magnificently caparisoned elephant.

Many vibrant tableaus, dance groups, music troupes, royal traditional bands, decorated elephants, camels and horses etc., are all part of the procession. The procession starts from the Mysuru Palace and stops at the ‘Bannimantap,’ where the famous ‘Banni’ tree is worshipped.
