PUSHKAR FAIR – 2019
4th to 12th November 2019
The Pushkar Fair (Pushkar Camel Fair) or Pushkar Mela is an annual weeklong camel and livestock fair held in the town of Pushkar in Rajastan will be from 4th to 12th November 2019. During the fair , there will be competitions like ‘matka phod’, ‘longest moustache’ and ‘bridal competition’, which attracts thousands of tourists. In recent years, the authorities included an exhibition cricket match between the local Pushkar Club and a team of foreign tourists.
KOLAYAT FAIR 2019
10th to 12th November 2019
The Kolayat Fair, known as ‘Kapil Muni Fair’ of Bikaner holds enormous importance for the locals and is held in the month of November. A holy dip in the Kolayat Lake is an important ritual during these days of fair. The belief is that a holy dip can absolve them of all their sins.
CHANDRABHAGA FAIR 2019
11 to 13 November 2019
Chandrabhaga Fair celebrated in the month of Kartik attracts thousands of travelers every year. These days devotees assemble on the banks of Chandrabhaga river, which is considered very sacred by the people of Rajastan. The festival held at held at Jhalrapatan, situated at a distance of about six kilometres from Jhalawar. People from distant places gather here to perform a dip in the river. The belief is that this will purify their souls. A large cattle fair will be organized during these days. Also Rajastan tourism department organizes the events like traditional Deepdan, Shobha Yatra and various competitions.
BUNDI FESTIVAL – 2019
15 to 17 November 2019
Celebrated in the month of Kartik, the festival showcases the extravaganza of culture, tradition and craftsmanship. Colourful Shobha Yatra procession, classical music & dance program, turban competitions, bridal clothing, musical band competitions, arts & crafts fair, ethnic sports, cultural exhibition, and a sparkling fireworks display are the attractions of this festival. Early in the morning, after the full moon night of Kartik Purnima, women and men dressed up with attractive colourful costumes , light diyas or lamps on the banks of Chambal River and seek blessings.
MATSYA FESTIVAL – 2019
25 to 26 November 2019
Matsya festival held in Alwar is the prime of all fairs and festivals of Rajasthan state, celebrated to glorify the prosperity, traditional values and colourful customs of the region. Colourful processions, cultural performances, an array of sporting events and impressive artistic exhibitions are the major attractions of this festive extravaganza. Alwar’s numerous palaces and forts, lakes, hunting lodges, archaeological sites and thick forests, make this festival more memorable and colourful.
