Covelong Point Surf, Music and Yoga Festival
What started as a small gathering to Yoga enthusiast, surfers and music lovers has now 6 years later become one of the most popular yoga and music festivals in the country. Set on the spectacular coastline of Tamil Nadu, it’s a carnival of culture at the Covelong Point Social Surf School, Kovalam which is a small village near Chennai.
A pilgrimage site of sorts for surfers, yogis, and musicians alike, who have an opportunity to meet with like-minded people and share their stories and practice what they love in the lap of nature.
The festival also boasts of a vibrant flea market, food stalls, art installations, and beachside activities, which are big, hit amongst the festivalgoers. The village has emerged as a surfers destination with loads of surfers heading to the coastline here to surf and bake in the South Indian sun.
The festival is a culmination of yoga, art, music, surfing and a love for the sea and has been attracting thousands of people from all over the country with folks especially flying from Delhi and Mumbai to experience the festival. It has not only emerged as a surfing hub but also as a popular music destination with national and international artists performing at the festival each year.
You can take surf lessons, learn to slackline and stand up paddle boarding along with a multitude of other beach activities. There is a wide variety of food for the food lovers who can enjoy the delicacies as they bathe in the sea and soak in the sun. For the yoga lovers, you have a special yogashalsa setup where you are practice yoga with thousands of other yoga enthusiasts. The evening is set with some amazing music with bands performing on stage and making people vibe to their music.
