Aanayootu and Ashta Dravya Maha Ganapathihomam 2018 at Vadakkumnathan Temple, Thrissur, Kerala will be held on 17th July.  Aanayoottu is a ritual of feeding of elephants, performed in the 1st day of Karkkidakam , the Malayalam month. People performs special pooja and feeding the elephants, it is believed that Aanayoottu elephants is a way to satisfy Lord Ganesha.  Sugar-cane leaves, jiggery, coconut, rice, ghee, Ayurvedic medicines  and the prasadam of Ganapthi pooja are include the  special feed of the elephants. A large number of people will participate in this traditional ritual.




Karkkidakam, the last month in Malayalam Calender,  is a month of some age old traditions and customs.  Nalambala Darshan (Visit of 4 temples), Ayurveda Panchakarma Treatment, Wearing Dasha Pushpam and preparing Pathila Curry some of the traditional customes followed in the month of Karkkidakam.

Wearing Dashapushpam (10 ten sacred flowers and plants) is an important ritual of Karkkidakam month. Dasha Pushpam includes Mukkutti, cheroola, uzhinja, thiruthali, poovamkurunnila, karuka, vishnukranthi, nilappana, kayunnyam and  muyal cheviyan . These are the plants with high medicinal value.

Preparing Pathila Curry ( Pathila means 10 leaves in regional language) is another thing in this season. Leaves are collecting from the courtyard and surroundings of homes.

 




Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2019 starts from 12th December 2018.

The largest art exhibition in India and the first Biennale of its kind, Kochi -Muziris Biennale 2019 edition will begin 0n 12th December 2018. Biennale ends on 29 March 2019. Indian and international artists exhibits their creations in variety of mediums like painting, film, sculpture, installation, new media etc. Also exhibition offers seminars, talks, workshops, screenings, music and other education related activities for school students. The exhibitions held at the existing galleries, halls, public spaces, heritage buildings and other places in Kochi, Muziris and its surrounding areas.
