UNESCO ( United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) has selected 36 world heritage sites in India. It includes 28 cultural heritage sites, 7 sites related to nature and one mixed site. Established in 17 November 1972, the aim of UNESCO is the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritages whole over the world. Agra Fort and Ajanta Caves are
the first two sites selected to the world heritage list in India are Agra fort and Ajantha caves in the year 1983. Every year, April 18 is celebrated as World Heritage Day
