Kodungallur temple id dedicated to Kodungallur Amma, an avathar of Goddess Bhagavathi. Thalappoli festival is one of the main festival celebrated in the temple. In the festival, women and young girls carry thalam (a plate filled with rice, flowers and a lighted lamp) in their hands to offer goddess Bhagavathy.
